Are you
aware that in 2008 Johnstown will celebrate the
250th anniversary of its founding? We would like to invite interested organizations, businesses and individuals to help us make this a fun-filled and action-packed year of celebration by participating in a variety of ways. May we suggest that you consider selecting some point in Johnstown history to weave into your already established events for the year? Perhaps your organization would like to plan a historically themed event; or you, your family or employees might be interested in volunteering your time and talents to other events whose plans are already underway? Do you have an idea for the celebration that we might help grow? The committee has begun to work on plans for a parade scheduled for September 13, 2008. A calendar of events will be hosted on this web site where people can readily access celebration information. Please participate by contacting one of the committee members with your ideas or plans or come to our next planning meeting scheduled for October 24, 2008 @7pm at the D.A.R. Home (home of the Daughters of the American Revolution) 200 S. William Street @ 6:00pm. Please contact Deb Callery at 762-8317 or Karen Raspanti at 762-6576 should you have any questions or need further information....or to become a part of the planning of "Johnstown Celebrates 2008".
Our committee
realizes that in any pre-planning for an event
there may be changes. In this state of preparing
for the celebration 2008, we would like only to
have a general idea of what events may be taking
place, the projected date of your event and how
many businesses, organizations or groups want to
join the celebration. | ||||||||||||||||||||
