A meeting of the Johnstown Planning Board was held on April 3, 2012 at 4:00p.m., in the Council Chambers, City Hall.

Also present was Mayor Sarah J. Slingerland. 

The meeting was called to order with a motion from Mrs. Johnson and seconded by Mrs. Easterly.  Motion carried. 

Minutes of the March 6, 2012 meeting were approved with a motion from Ms. Knowlton and seconded by Mrs. Easterly.  Motion carried. 

J.F. DALEY INTERNATIONAL - the company, located in the Industrial Park off of N. Perry St., is planning on moving a similar operation from New Jersey. They would like to add on to their existing building. The proposed addition would be 40’ X 240’ and be the same character and height of the existing structure. The company distributes janitorial supplies. They purchase the cleaning product and mix it with Johnstown water, package and ship out. They do not manufacture the cleaning solution. They use approximately 3,000 to 4,000 gallons of water per day. This is a clean operation for mixing and storing. They will have adequate parking with the addition. Truck traffic will enter and exit on either N. Perry St. or Harrison St. They have filed the short form SEQR. They plan to build this year. 

A motion to set a public hearing for May 1, 2012 was made by Mrs. Cotter and seconded by Mrs. Johnson.  Motion carried. 

Chairman Smith extended his thanks to outgoing Board Member Kurt Ackerknecht for his service to the Board.  Fredrick Franko was appointed his successor and Chairman Smith welcomed him to the Board. 

Mr. Franko asked several questions of the Board which were answered to his satisfaction.   

A motion to adjourn was made by Mrs. Easterly and seconded by Mrs. Johnson.
